CES 2015 is right around the corner. Are we ready for the internet of things?

The CES 2015 takes place this month between 6th and 9th January. This year indubitably one of the central themes would be the internet of things. Military technology such as drones is entering the household. Smart home appliances and wearables would be heavily advertised as well. However, one logical question arises. Do you really need a machine that is just kinda flying around? Is your fridge so difficult to control that you need to do this from an app? The practical application for drones may actually be very limited and it is an authentic possibility that they would ultimately end up as a collector's item, similar to the model trains for the G.I. Generation. This does not mean that the internet of things has no actual place. Wearables that are executed properly could provide real insights on our sports activities and lifestyle. They would also create a great new advertising venue for the organic and healthy food trend which is thankfully growing.
